First Telecom
were one of the first indirect competitors to BT ten years ago, who then became
part of the failed Atlantic group. Breathe
had previously
bought the business of Atlantic Telecom which went into receivership. Some of
the Atlantic tariffs were very competitive, particularly their Ringitonline
(formerly First Telecom)
tariff, which was the basis or Breathe's pre-pay tariff.
On their current pre-pay tariff you pay 2.35p per minute for UK calls at
all times whilst their standard post pay tariff is very similar to BT and thus
not competitive. Their headline destination is the USA where they charge just 2p
per minute inc vat.
