For many years BT were the major shareholder in Cellnet. A couple of years back they hived it off as MMo2 and left the mobile business; they are now trying to get back in to the fray. They have taken the same route as Virgin, Fresh and others, of becoming a virtual network by reselling the One2one system now owned by T-mobile. Their monopoly position gives them a big advantage, in as much as they can bill via your home phone bill and operate their unique selling gimmick of free short calls home. You can ring your home phone any time for up to two minutes for nothing. Other than those calls, the package is structured around a 10p per minute price plan. There is no pay-as-you-go option; one pays £12.50 rental for the first phone and £10.00 for additional handsets (or a fiver off each for a sim only option). You can buy bundles of minutes from £10 for 100 minutes to £90 for 1000 minutes, with bundled texts from about 8p each. Bundled minutes can be carried over. The whole package is reasonable value for those who ring home alot, otherwise better deals can be had elsewhere. Key Features
