The market has been opened up to competition for the benefit of the consumer, but confusion reigns. If you ring one of the new 118... numbers you can be charged in one of four different ways. You can pay a fixed fee, or by time, or both, or one price for the first minute then another rate then on. Most people want one uk number for the cheapest price
If you want international directory enquiries their number is 11 88 99 at 64p per minute which is half the price of BT's 153 service. |

So the best value
seems to be 118.com 's Low cost service which, as advertised, is half the price
of BT's 192 service. As they say just dial 11 88 88.
