USwitch are an advisory service for a number of types of utilities. They have an online calculator which examines your telephone usage and suggests a single 'cheapest supplier'. They do not track every phone company in the UK, but their sponsored suppliers do include nearly all of our 'best buy' firms. Their calculator builds a detailed profile of your calling patterns and telephone usage and then compares the cost of your existing telephone supplier against a range of UK telephone companies. 
uSwitch.com considers all charges including line rental, call costs, connection charges, free calls and any other discounts. Also factored in are minimum call costs and whether or not you are billed by the second or by the minute. The calculator gives you an impartial view on the telephone company and plan that will best suit your individual or family needs. They do make life very easy for you, if you do decide to change. They arrange the switch by forwarding all necessary details to the chosen supplier, who then contacts you, for any further info needed (like direct debit details). As stressed elsewhere on this site, regardless of which company you use for the majority of your calls, you can still use resellers and gateways when you want to get your costs down. So you could use uSwitch to choose your 'usual' phone company and then use 0845-gateways or short code resellers as required. |
