Vodafone was the first to launch a GSM service in the UK in late 1991. Nationwide the coverage is excellent with over 99% of the population covered. For most users it would not be the cheapest network, but if you absolutely have to get through, then it might suit you. Their business tariffs are based around inclusive minutes packages, where the more you pay the better the number of free minutes. None of their tariffs is the cheapest for the casual user. For some businesses their 150 to 10000 tariffs where you can share the minutes amongst groups of phones might appeal but still the peak rate is never less than 10p inc Vat. Pay as you goThey have a number of types of Prepay package. On Firststep you pay 40p peak and 10p (5p to other
vodafones) off-peak. Pay MonthlyVodafone's tariffs are split in 'Leisure', 'Standard' and 'Business'. On Leisure 200 for £14.99 (plus £1.50 itemised billing) you get 200 off-peak minutes; an extra pound gives you 500 minutes. You pay 20p daytime and 2p for extra minutes. Calls to other vodafones are 20p peak and 5p off-peak; other networks are 50p peak and 30p off-peak. Their basic business tariff is £14 (plus £1.50 billing), no inclusive minutes but 10p peak and 5p off-peak Vodafone's cheapest standard tariff is Vodafone 20 at £12.99 inc twenty minutes each month. You can pay an extra £3 for fifty text messages. You can pay £17.50 with sixty minutes or £25 with two hundred minutes. Their business tariffs at £40, £70 and £95 pounds include 400, 8000 or 1000 minutes. Extra standard minutes are 15p on consumer tariffs and 10p on business ones. Off peak is 5p per minute.
